Choose a reference, take a photo and manage your works. Start with these steps.
Last updated: 1 November 2026
01 / POSE
Choose a pose reference
Browse or search albums in the Pose Library, then tap a pose thumbnail in the camera. Tap the subject reference to drag it or pinch to resize. Use the cross to hide it, then tap a pose thumbnail to show it again.
02 / REFERENCE
Shoot with a reference photo
Open reference-photo shooting, choose an image and adjust its opacity. Move your phone to align the background, then help your subject match the position and pose. Resizing the subject reference does not change the camera focal length.
03 / CAMERA
Adjust the view, then shoot
Set flash, timer or grid on the shooting screen. Open filters or beauty controls near the shutter and adjust the strength gradually. If an effect is unclear, improve the lighting, face the camera or reduce its strength.
04 / WORKS
View and keep your works
Tap the thumbnail beside the shutter, or open Works from My. Follow the screen prompts to share, save to Photos or delete a photo. Deleting a local work does not delete its copy in Photos.
Frequently asked questions
Why did you create this app?
The reason is simple: my wife loves taking photos and looking her best.
What if the camera is black or cannot take a photo?
Allow camera access for Kawi in system Settings, then return to the app and retry. If the view stays black, close other apps using the camera and check the system Camera app. Save copies of your works before considering reinstalling Kawi.
Why is my new photo missing from Photos?
First check that it was saved in Kawi Works. Local works and copies in Photos are saved separately. To keep a Photos copy, follow the app's save prompts and allow adding photos. Check Photos after a success message; if saving fails, keep the local work and retry.
Forgot password, or missing a verification email?
Tap “Forgot password?” on the sign-in screen and request a code using your registered email. Check your inbox and spam folder. Enter the code, set and confirm a new password, then sign in after a successful reset. Change the email if it is incorrect, and wait for the countdown before resending or retrying. Never share passwords or verification codes.
How do I delete my account?
Open My → Delete account, verify your identity as prompted and confirm. Deletion is complete only when you see a success message; check your connection and retry if it fails. Deleting an account differs from signing out or uninstalling the app. It does not remove local works or Photos copies, or automatically cancel Apple subscriptions.
Will my works return automatically on a new phone?
Signing in does not mean your local works are backed up. Before changing phones, uninstalling Kawi or clearing app data, save the photos you want to keep to Photos or another safe location and check your backup.
How do I change language or find the guide?
Open language settings in My to choose Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Thai or Arabic. The same screen also links to the feature guide.
Contact support
Open My → Feedback to describe an issue or idea. Contact details are optional. Check for a success message and feedback ID after submitting; if it fails, check your connection and follow the retry prompt.
Include the app version, device model, system version and steps to reproduce the issue. Before emailing a screenshot, hide email addresses, faces and anything else you do not want to share. Never send passwords or verification codes.
